1985年至今，任教于华中科技大学，现任杏彩体育平台测评
教授。
1981年考入华中工学院（现华中科技大学）电力系统及其自动化专业，1985年获工学学士学位。
1987年考入华中理工大学（现华中科技大学）理论电工专业，1990年获工学硕士学位。
1995年晋升为华中科技大学副教授。
2006年获华中科技大学电力系统及其自动化专业工学博士学位。
2007年晋升为华中科技大学教授。
教学领域：电路理论、电磁场理论。
研究领域：电力系统可靠性、电气化铁路供电技术、电力设备状态监测与诊断。
Prof. Yan Qiurong, PhD on power system and its automation. She is engaged in teaching fundamental theory of electrical engineering. Research direction includes reliability evaluation of electrical power system, techniques of railway power supply and electrical equipment condition monitoring and diagnosis.
